it flares up out of nowhere… those tiny red and bumps haunting my highlighted cheekbones. it’s something I’ve been a victim of as of recent months, and my search for the cure has been ongoing….

here’s what i’ve gathered thus far…

rosacea (roe-ZAY-she-uh) – “a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. it may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps.” not cute.

what to avoid…

overheating: rosacea loves to make it’s debut when you’re overheated. try placing a frozen water bottle on your neck during workouts or an ice cold wash cloth to control the flush. we love our ice roller.

stress and anxiety: for rosacea sufferers, when you’re under stress, it’s evident on your skin. we recommend mediation and yoga to help relax the mind and bod.

dairy, alcohol, and hot beverages: can seriously aggravate rosacea. choose your liquids wisely.

harsh products: rosacea suffers tend to have extra sensitive skin, so it’s time for process of elimination. if you start noticing increased irritation after use of a product, eliminate.

how to treat…

the derm can prescribe a topical products that usually clear it up in 1-2 months. however, it might become an ongoing treatment to prevent future flareups.

IPL Treatment (intense pulsed light laser). a painless treatment that helps alleviate rosacea and rebuild new cells for a long-term solution. can cost $350-500 per sesh and may require multiple treatments.

skincare & makeup products designed for rosacea sufferers fortunately, there are several makeup and skincare products designed to reduce redness and improve overall appearance (currently into the prosacea rosacea treatment gel. it’s majorly reduced redness and irritation. use 3x/day)
