why we made the switch to matcha

if you're a client at HOP, you've most likely seen a 'Solar Power' or two sitting at the front desk or in the hands of a client coordinator. for those of you wondering WTF we're talking about, it's a matcha-based drink and HOP's go-to order at LaLa Land Kind Cafe. let’s just say our monthly staff meetings always begin with 12 solar powers delivered by uber eats

we are literally addicted to this drink and it's not just for the taste. we're hooked on the clean high you get with matcha over the crash & burn of our coffee past. you won't get the jitters or have to worry about heart palpations and it's hugely beneficial for your health

why we made the switch...
boosts energy & focus: unlike a cup of coffee or an energy drink, matcha lets you maintain a stead flow of energy throughout the day, giving you 4-6 hours vs 1-2. you also won't get that edgy feeling or anxiety that you do with regular caffeinated drinks
anti-aging: one serving of matcha has 10x the antioxidants in a cup of green or black tea. antioxidants are the body's greatest defense weapon against premature again and chronic diseases. the more you have, the more equipped your body is
good vibes: it contains a mood enhancing amino acid "L theanine" (ya, we had to google that too) which increases the production of feel-good hormones, dopamine & serotonin
clearer skin: if you're a hardcore coffee drinker you're not going to want to hear this, but it's not good for your skin. matcha helps clear up acne by reducing sebum production. it also contains chlorophyll, one of nature's most powerful detoxifiers and antibacterial properties to aid in a natural glow
supports weight loss: matcha is shown to increase the body's own rate of burning calories, taking it from a normal 8-10% to between 35-43%- score! we also find it really comes in handy to have an extra serving during that after lunch slump hour where some truly tragic food choices can be made
