you most likely already have this little miracle worker in your cosmetic bag, but might not be using it to its full potential. this sponge is a staple for all makeup gurus and when used correctly, is the most flawless way to apply your foundation, highlighter and contour.
to ensure you’re using your beauty blender to its full potential, follow the below tricks of the trade…
- always saturate with water- this is key. applying CC cream or foundation with a dry BB will make it look cakey. for a flawless, dewy finish, soak your BB in water & squeeze out the excess (you want it to be damp)
- don’t drag it, dab it- basically the opposite of how you would use a foundation brush. avoid rubbing and dragging. you want to bounce it lightly on the skin for an airbrush finish. apply product to the back of your hand and dip your BB in, gradually building coverage
- use pointy edge for concealer- this side is great for getting under the the eyes and corners
- use it to blend contour & highlighter- after applying bronzer (using a brush), delicately go over with your BB to create a more natural shadow under the hollows of cheeks and smooth out highlighted areas
don’t forget to keep it clean and replace every month or so. a dirty beauty blender can be a breeding ground for bacteria if not properly cared for
